Review                                                                                                                                      Pete and Dennis shooting the Redman

The Bodnik Redman Recurve is a 62" bow that is a joy to carry and shoot. It is light weight, good looking , and a definitely very exceptionaly quiet recurve. At brace heights of only 7 1/2" it shoots silently with no vibrations or even a hint of shock. The draw on it is buttery smooth, and there is virtually no heard or felt sounds and vibrations with just a simple set of beaver balls installed on it. I have been shooting the Redman for a few weeks now and I am becoming very fond of it. The workmanship is very good, and the satin no glare finish is without any drips ,runs ,or sags and the glue lines are flawless. The glass  used is very clear without those annoying white streaks and spots we so often see these days.

Dennis from Git-r-done archery with Bearpaw Heavy Hunter arrows.

The limbs are made with Maple cores and a single strip of Bodnik Stablecore carbon for stability, with Olive veneers and phenolic reinforced tips. The Olive veneer is quite striking. The Riser is made with Bubinga reinforced and accented with Phenolic strips. The grip is slender and very nicely formed. Repeated hand position is natural each time I shoot the Redman. I like the looks and feel of this bow. All |Bearpaw bows now have a modern high performance string made at Bearpaw. These "Whisper Strings as they are called are a big improvement over the old strings that were previously used. There is no need to upgrade the strings on Bodnik Bows anymore.

When I first shot the Redman I was pleased with the speed and great feel , or actually lac of feel to it. The same observations have been told to me by everyone that has shot the Redman. Although many prefer light arrows I have chosen Heritage 90 arrows with 300 grain points for the Redman. The bow seems to like this combination and I also like it.

The Redman is available in the 62 model I have as well as a 64 model for those shooters with longer draw lengths.

All Bodnik bows now have a 30 year warranty!!!

This warranty is good for all subsequent owners of the bow, not just the original purchaser.

"Our guarantee applies to 100% on the bow because our quality has nothing to do with the owner of the bow. Our guarantee also applies to subsequent owners of Bodnik Bows and does not lose its validity for a full 30 years. The choice of material and the weight of the used arrows do not limit our guarantee."

All arrows were shot from a static release, by hand at the same session. Actual draw lengths are confirmed / coached by Pat my wife. I use a constant power supply, and a light kit on the chronograph.

Every bow in all of my reviews are set up to be hunting quiet, with minimal vibrations, shock etc.

They are not set up for the fastest speed possible. Chronographing was done at 8" brace height as recomended, however the Redman shoots quicker and just as quiet at 7 1/2" brace.

My closing thoughts are that the Redman is a real hunting bow, that has excelent workmanship and a truly good after the shot feel . It has good looks, and shooting qualities that should satisify any shooter. The 30 year Transferable warranty is as good as it gets. This bow can easily be passed on to to your children, and possibly their children and still be under warranty. The Redman is another bow that will see woods time this fall. I definately like it a lot.
