Detailed description copied from the White Wolf website.

Bow is a Longhunter S4 from the Legend series by White Wolf Custom Bows, Made with coreflex/super action wood, riser. It’s a 64” bow Right hand and is 38 lbs at 28.” The riser color is Sassy the limbs are ash in the color Black with Clear glass on the belly and the full Camo Coreflexs on the back of the bow. This bow is the first half and half limb layup I have made the best of both worlds. And also reduces the price of a full Camo bow. The reflex / deflex design of the limbs makes for a smooth draw and fast arrow flight. These bows are very user-friendly they are cut 1/8 inch past center and have a heavily radius arrow shelf any radius to the site window all this adds up to letting you put the arrow where you point and a very comfortable riser handle makes sure that you have hand placement the same each time while making a comfortable feel to the draw. . This bow is light in the hand, and a truly great bow to carry hunting all day or a superb bow for competition .

The limb tip overlays are coreflex super action wood to make it fastflight string ready. The bow comes with a calf hair rest and a custom Flemish twist string with silencers. All you need are arrows to match the bow.

I stand behind my workmanship, call me anytime to discuss your purchase. Tony at White Wolf Customs Bows 860-243-3661 or 860-308-3308

Review:

When I first talked to Tony we decided to do a Bow Review for the Girls. "Sassy" our review bow is just the ticket, bright pink with black, and I must say it is an eye catcher. This bow is a Longhunter model, 64" 38#@ 28". The workmanship reflects that of a higher priced bow, as does the wonderfully clear glass. Good clear glass is hard to find, and this bow has it. Glue lined are tight and the finish is smooth, and without any sanding or tool marks. Other than a tiny run near the top limb tip that is hard to notice unless you are doing an inspection the bow is very nicely made. Sassy has a high gloss clear finish that shows off the colors well. We wanted a Girly bow for this review that draws attention and we have it.

The bow draws very smooth and pleasant.  It shoots quite well, with several arrows we tried. Pat finally decided on a set of Beman Flash skinny carbons tipped with outserts, and 145 gr points weighing 386 grains. These shoot good for her and she is enjoying the attention the "Pink Sassy” bow brings at the lanes. The girls love it, and many are asking where to get one like it.  Most of the men are not taken by the colour as a choice for themselves but do think it would be good for their wives and daughters, after they finish teasing me when they see me shooting a PINK BOW. I may never live this down.

Back to shooting quality, Sassy was first tried with a 7 1/4" brace height and the Dacron string and rubber cat whiskers that came with it. The bow was quiet, in fact silent, however it did have some  vibration. We tried to reduce it with a higher brace height, but it was always there. I was not satisfied with the vibrations, and I do not like Dacron, so the stock string was changed to a 10 strand 8125 string, with 2 mink fur balls for silencers. {Now what girl does not like Mink.} This made a big difference in both performance, and the feel. Sassy was already silent, and this did not change; however the feel did improve. At the initial 7 1/4" brace the vibrations were greatly reduced, and at Pats preferred brace of 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 it is all but eliminated with the better string. To clarify this I mean that the vibrations are so light now you often do not notice them unless you are looking for them. It is in my mind very acceptable, and definitely not a concern. Pat tells me she does not feel any vibrations at all when she shoots it.

You may notice a Pink and black string with Pink Furr ball silencers in some of the photos.I went out and ordered some Pink DF97 material and made a 10 strand  pink and black string to match the bow. Hairy Beaver Silencers provided the pink Rabbit fur silencers that are on it now. This string not only is quiet, but it looks cool too. {The performance is virtualy identical to the 8125 string I used earlier.} It still has a very light vibration with this string, however it is quite acceptable to us.

Shooting accurately with this bow is easy with properly matched arrows.  We do find that the grip on this bow is a bit on the blocky side, and large for a woman’s hand. After talking to Tony about this he has assured me that he can and will make the grips smaller as requested and in a more contoured/rounded profile. Just ask and he will make your grip the way you want it. Most of the women I talked into trying different grip sizes picked grips that measured 4 1/8 to 4 1/2" circumference at the throat. I also like smaller sized grips like this.

 Testing

All arrows were shot from a static release, by hand at the same session. Actual draw lengths are confirmed / coached by Pat my wife. I use a constant power supply, and a light kit on the chronograph.

Every bow in all of my reviews are set up to be hunting quiet, with minimal vibrations, shock etc.

They are not set up for the fastest speed possible.

Pats Comments on "Sassy"

When I first received this bow I was amazed at the vibrancy of the colours. I never knew you could create such a true pink with wood. This is definitely a bow that should catch the eye of any female looking to get into archery that has been turned off by the many “manly looking bows” that are currently on the market.

This bow arrived when  Peter was at work, so I had to wait for him to get home to string it up for me. After the bow was strung and I had the opportunity to draw it for the first time I was very pleased with the smoothness of the draw. My next step was firing that first arrow, against everything I have ever said I would not do, I could not wait till the next day to shoot, so down to the basement I went. {I don't like shooting in the house.}Wow that first shot was a real eye-opener!! With no tuning and just an arrow I grabbbed out of my quiver, this bow was dead quiet, with just a slight touch of hand buzz(which was later removed with tuning).

Pat with Sassy

The next day was our Friday night League shoot, so off I went ready to show off my new pink bow. The reaction from everyone was the same as mine. This bow definitely has the “eye candy” appeal the women are looking for, and there was a line-up of people (men too) who wanted to shoot a few arrows from her. The most common reaction from everyone was how quiet this bow is, and that they all knew someone who would love to have a pink bow.

We replaced the original string with one that was a bit thinner and added beaver puffs as well.I found the string that came with the bow to be a bit thick for my arrow nocks and didn’t want to stretch them. After fletching up a dozen new arrows with pink fletching and pink tracers,I was ready to go back to the lanes for round two of the show. This time the bow outdid herself!! What could be better for us females than the whole package pink bow and pink arrows. There was a whole new batch of people to try her out, some even came just because they had heard of it from some one else. I have yet to have had some one try this bow that didn’t like it.

Above ,Billy-Jo, our friend from Trophy Book Archery loves the pink Sassy bow . The smile says it all .

Notes

I would like to show you a few of the other bows that Tony makes that may also appeal to you if Pink is not your colour. Take a look at the Whitewolf site and you can view the large gallery of sold bows on display. There is lots of Eye candy there. Here are some photos from the Whitewolf site showing a few of the other colors available.

Tony has also informed me that he now has a 2 year warranty on all White Wolf bows.
